Welcome to my Recipes! I’ve assembled some great ones from other Paleo-friendly websites. These recipes are Low-Starch, Gluten-Free, and contain no grains, potatoes, sugars or beans. They’re great for Diabetics, Athletes, and ordinary folks needing some simple new foods!
My Diet For Human Beings, a version of the Paleo Diet or Primal Blueprint Diet, suggests that we eat the way our digestive systems actually EVOLVED to eat. Since we are not built to graze on grasses or their seeds, the diet eliminates wheat, corn, rice, oats and other cereal grasses and grains. Humans do better when we let the bison, birds and rabbits eat these grasses or seeds, and convert the starchy carbohydrates into protein and fat for us. We only learned to consume dairy products when we began to domesticate animals 10,000 years ago, so we did not evolve with dairy foods either. Most people do tolerate ghee (clarified butter) however. Add plenty of vegetables to this higher protein and fat diet, and you’ll feel full, regulate your weight, and probably sleep better too.
No desserts are included in our categories, as a little fresh fruit (perhaps with almond butter or raw cheese) makes a great addition to a meal. Or, have a salad as the last course as the French do…. Personally, I prefer “seconds” of whatever I just ate as my dessert!
