You’ve heard about leafy greens for constipation, right? Who do they work so well?
There are many causes of constipation. BUT, like everything else in Natural Health, it’s a process of experimenting on yourself and talking with a good Functional Medicine Coach to rule out some of the obvious choices.
We hear that FIBER is key, but for those of us who follow an Ancestral, Biologically based diet such as Paleo or my Diet For Human Beings, we’re just not that into fiber for its own sake.
I eat 6 to 8 cups of cooked vegetables daily, along with some salads and a little fruit. How do I have so many veggies ready to eat?
The key is having a good 12 quart stockpot with a steamer insert that will let you cook bunches of leafy greens at one time. (Here’s one I recommend). Kale, chard, dandelion greens, collards, mustard greens, and spinach need room to start out big, but wilt down as they cook. I like all of them alone or in combination with others.

Designs For Health Colon RX and Systemic Formulas C – Colon.
Both will help move the bowels and provide toning.
Check your Thyroid labs to make sure your levels are good, and eliminate grains from your diet. Wheat, rice, corn and oats can definitely slow the bowel.
