Managing Herpes without prescription medications is a goal for my own health and for Clients. The right combination of supplements, diet and stress management can work in acute and recurring infections. The Herpes family is a large one and includes HSV1, HSV2, Shingles, Epstein Barr and ChickenPox (among others). Having struggled with all of these except HSV1 I have learned how to manage them without medications.
I have never taken prescription meds for these viruses. While Valtrex or Acyclovir may be the right choice for many, anti-viral drugs do have side effects. They are best used for a first-time outbreak when the sufferer is immediately aware what is occurring. Theese meds have to be taken at the start of an outbreak and are not for daily long-term use (in my opinion).
Why I Work Without Prescription Anti-Virals
My work is about helping people regain control over their health. The more you know what affects you and how to change it, the more you are in charge.
Taking medication without understanding what it does or the other options available does not teach you anything.
The steps below can be effective at taking these viruses dormant in most people.
Managing Herpes Without Prescription Medications
There are 4 steps – three are essential and one optional.
1). Stop feeding the virus with high Arginine foods.
I have multiple articles and podcasts on this. To find them, enter the phrase “herpes foods” in the blue Search box. The list includes: grains, nuts, seeds, coconut meat/canned coconut milk/coconut flour, bone broth, most beans, collagen, protein powders and chocolate.
The Paleo Ancestral Primal way of eating (lots of vegetables, fats and proteins) eliminates grains but can be heavy on the other foods. Here’s one of several articles on Herpes Foods.
2). Add efficient, time-tested herbs and amino acids that control HSV with rare effects.
Lysine of course, in pulsed doses, less when you are symptom free and more at first sign of recurring infection. I put together many helpful items in this Herpes Support Pack with instructions on how to use higher or lower doses as needed.
The Olive Leaf I use and sell is not an extract as commonly sold but the whole leaf. I find it mandatory along with the other nutrients listed.
3). Manage stress.
We all know Herpes flares when we are angry, frightened, hurt or overwhelmed. You’ll notice the Passion Flower in the Herpes Infection Pack. I have many articles on using this tincture for emotional support, muscular tension, pain, digestion, sleep, anxiety and more.
But supplements cannot replace lifestyle management. If you want to beat Herpes or Epstein Barr, managing your emotions and sleep is as essential as Lysine.
4). An option when my EBV or Herpes flares is Ozone by IV.
IV Ozone is helpful for many kinds of infections and is a simple process. Ozone clinics are run by licensed physicians as medical support, not as “spa treatments”. The IV takes about 90 minutes. Ozone can be helpful for other infections including pneumonia, flu, and others.
