My 5 Best Supplements for Herpes

Here are the best supplements for Herpes I have used and carry in my Online Store. More anti-viral supplement support is found here. The Herpes Supplement Pack includes these and several more.

I have never taken prescription medications for Herpes (too many side effects, including B12 deficiency). It’s controllable with a low Arginine diet, stress management and supplements.

5 Best Supplements for Herpes

1). Lysine is the most important supplement for Herpes or Shingles. This amino acid helps block the virus from reproducing. It’s important to also reduce its opposite – Arginine amino acid – in your diet. Here are two articles (this one and the next) discussing high Arginine foods such as Bone Broth, Protein Powders and Chocolate you need to know about.

I like this Pure Encapsulations Lysine. Pure is committed to additive-free products. This is rare in the supplement industry, even with professional-grade products that I carry. One capsule twice a day between meals is great for maintenance. Take more when you feel prodromal symptoms. I take 500 mg. a day for maintenance.

2). Supreme Nutrition Olive Leaf. This is whole Olive Leaf, not the standardized extracted Oleuropein sold everywhere. It has a huge antioxidant ORAC score. I find it an effective anti-viral for Epstein Barr and Herpes. Well tolerated, I take it daily from 1 to 4 a day as needed, with food. 6 a day for difficult cases.

3). Ecological Formulas Monolaurin. Monolaurin is well known for Candida and the various Herpes Viruses. Derived from Coconut Oil, its Lauric Acid disturbs infectious cell membranes which then cannot survive.

4). Melissa Lemon Balm Tincture. Lemon Balm has proven effective against Herpes Viruses including Epstein Barr and Cytomegalo Virus. It’s a calming herb too. I carry it in a Glycerin tincture so you can take it without water if you wish. I often take mine during the night if I wake up and feel I might need help going back to sleep and/or feel the virus.

5). High-quality Vitamin D with Vitamin K2 is essential. Don’t take Vitamin D without K2. I have many articles and Podcasts on this topic such as this on heart disease and K2. D3 Complete has D, K2 and Vitamin A – three of the fat soluble vitamins. Take it daily for life, higher doses when sick. Test your D annually and keep it between 45 and 90.

Additional Supplements for Herpes or Epstein Barr

Stress, anger and fear trigger these viruses. I recommend Passion Flower as often as desired to help stay calm and improve sleep, depending on the dosage used.

Systemic Formulas VIVI – Virox was a life-saver when I had Epstein Barr. It works on many types of viruses. I always keep a bottle handy, and if traveling. This premium product contains a combination of herbs and Lomatium Oil proven to work for decades. More expensive than other products for Herpes but may make the difference once you change your diet to reduce Arginine and work with the other formulas.

An alternative to D3 Complete with D, A and K2 is Rosita raw Cod Liver Oil (caps or oil) with Walkabout Emu oil caps. Walkabout is a natural MK-4 form of K2 and very unique. Here’s the pair of them sold together, or but separately.
